Drew’s path as a photographer started as a kid in the 1990’s, shooting bands on black and white film in lots of NYC clubs that no longer exist. Those dark, gritty venues served as his training ground, teaching him the nuances of light, composition, and storytelling.
During college he was a photo assistant at Kraft Foods, where he once starred as Mr. Peanut in a Planters Peanuts Super Bowl ad. He then went on to intern for two legendary photographers, Joe McNally and Danny Clinch, getting a master class in the art of portraiture.
When his college band didn’t bring him the superstardom he had hoped for, he got more serious about his career and Joe offered him a job as his first assistant. Five years and half a million air miles later, he moved to Brooklyn, New York to pursue his passion for photography head on.
Since that time, Drew has worked with some of the most renowned brands across the fashion and advertising industry including Rolling Stone, Adidas, Mastercard, and Abercrombie & Fitch. He’s photographed some of the world’s most iconic figures – from Yo-Yo Ma and Alicia Keys to Greta Gerwig and Spike Lee. Some of his recent work includes portraits of Drew Barrymore and Dua Lipa for the Associated Press and promotional photos of Bob Odenkirk in collaboration with The Lede Company.
