Shern Sharma is an award-winning director and writer whose short films and branded campaigns have traveled the world on prestigious festival circuits, such as Cannes and Berlinale, winning numerous prizes along the way.

Storybooked, an episodic travel series which he directed for the Marriott International Group, was a viral hit, winning four Telly Awards and two Webby Awards. In addition to commercial success, Shern directed the short film Holy Dog, which earned Vimeo Staff Pick and garnered a Booooooom TV Award. His international journeys of discovery have shaped his distinctive and award-winning visual style, providing him with an ability to “pull back the minutia” and authentically get to the human core of his subjects.

Shern’s occupation as a visual storyteller began when he put down the law books and picked up a camera to pursue a more practical career: becoming an artist. He worked first as a photographer prior to beginning film school, and with decades behind the camera, Shern is not afraid to rise to the logistical and environmental challenges of being a global filmmaker. In addition to directing, Shern is a collector of hobbies such as climbing, cooking, gardening, and engineering.
