Sequitur Cinema is a Production House and a Post House. We offer turn-key solutions so you don’t have to onboard entire new teams at each phase of the process.

We partner with clients to see jobs successfully from development to delivery, nationally and internationally, across all media.

SEQUITUR REEL 2019

We do not believe in,
‘this is how things are done.’

We would rather ask,
‘why not do it like this?’

We employ a staff of Producers, Production and Post Production Teams. Keeping more work in-house translates to keeping more money on-screen. Every decision we make in our approach, from how we’re structured to how we execute a job, is designed to maximize the potential of what we can achieve creatively, and how we can do it efficiently, both in terms of time and cost.

Since 2012, we’ve partnered with brands such as...

Our Producers
are Everythingists.

But our Directors
are Specialists.

Miko Lim

Motion & Stills

Focus:

Sports; Active wear

Style:

Kinetic; Contemporary

Miko Lim was born in Malaysia to a Czech-American mother and a Chinese father. At a very early age, he moved to Seattle with his mother, and later would deliver newspapers to his neighbor Kurt Cobain. It was the epicenter of the Grunge Era which had a profound effect on Lim’s world view. During his college years in Los Angeles, Lim studied medicine and spent his free time surfing the Pacific. After graduation, his serious pursuit in the visual arts developed while working for Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thorton’s production house.

Since then, Lim has become an established name within the photographic community with an impressive client list, shooting for such brands as Nike, Adidas, Olay, Coca Cola, Red Bull, Converse, Diesel, and Maybelline. His editorial clients include GQ, Esquire, Numero, Self, Shape, Vibe, Fitness, and Vogue.

Lim’s first book, We Are The Only Ones, which depicted a fresh, youthful summer in Miami, was published in 2011.

He lives between New York and Los Angeles with his wife and three sons.

Matt Boyd

Live Action

Focus:

Music and Sports; Branded Content

Style:

Modern; Minimal; Real

Matt Boyd was born in Virginia but raised in Augsburg, Germany. He didn’t grow up on film—he grew up on skateboards and bikes. Skate culture and vids influenced his aesthetics, but so did the photography of Robert Frank, Eggleston, and Stephen Shore, as well as the Euro-Cinema masters from the 60s and 70s like Goddard, Antonioni, and Tarkovsky.

So when Matt grew up, instead of getting a skate sponsor, he worked as a Cinematographer, Editor, and later, Director. He’s helmed critically acclaimed docs, concert films and portrait profiles with today’s leading artists, athletes, agencies and brands. Branded clients include APPLE, IFC, BOSE, VERIZON, SPIN, VICE, GOOGLE, KIA, SPOTIFY, VEVO, SPRITE and HEINEKEN. His broad résumé of music-films includes projects with artists such as KENDRICK LAMAR, RZA, MOBY, CHANCE THE RAPPER, BON IVER, 50 CENT, THE BLACK KEYS, EMINEM, THE FLAMING LIPS, and DOLLY PARTON

Nick Sawyer

Live Action

Focus:

Food; Tabletop

Style:

Beauty; Studio & Lifestyle

Nick’s career spans decades and continents. Combining his loves of Music and Food, he’s created an interesting dual-path for his film work. On one hand, he’s shot music videos for some of the biggest artists in the world (PRINCE, RADIOHEAD, THE WHITE STRIPES), and through which is experienced in abstract visuals, special effects, and performance. But as a Commercial Director, he’s focused his efforts on Food Tabletop work, having helmed spots for household names like McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Kellogg’s, and more. Like his work, Nick also splits his time, travelling between the UK and the US.

Hollis Bennett

Motion & Stills

Focus:

Outdoor Rec; Agriculture; Tourism

Style:

Natural Light; Natural Beauty (in the dirt and mud)

Growing up in Oklahoma, Hollis Bennett learned how to get his hands dirty at a young age. Worked his share of farms and ranches—logged his hours both in the saddle and on the tractor. Graduated from the wide open of the Midwest to the frigid shores of the Alaska Peninsula along the Bering Sea, where he lived and worked a handful of years as a commercial fisherman and guide.

Hollis found photography, and found he was able to translate the space of those infinite horizons into the confines of a frame. He started capturing images of the things he knew well, and he continued traveling. This turned into over a decade of award-winning filmmaking and photography: hunting, fishing, agriculture, construction, trucks—pretty much anything with tires, mud, tools, machines, and the real people that work with them. And he’s done this with clients such as RAM TRUCKS, LANDROVER, HONDA, CUB CADET, IBM, UBER, and CITGO. Anyone who will let him keep his hands dirty.

Kendrick&Holland

Live Action

Focus:

Lifestyle; Healthcare

Style:

Emotive; Montage

In the mid 00s, editor Ryan Kendrick finished his studies at The Edit Center in NYC, and moved to Nashville where he met photographer and multi-media artist Will Morgan Holland. They began partnering together on short-form narrative and doc work, finding their complementary skillsets allowed for Kendrick to focus on the frame and how it’s going to work for the edit, freeing Holland to concentrate more on performances and running set. As a Director/Editor duo, their branded and commercial content specialty is multi-day, multi-camera, multi-location Scripted Lifestyle work which they’ve done for clients such as BOSE, RAM, BLUECROSS BLUESHIELD, HOTELS.COM, WENDY’S, GATORADE, MOUNTAIN DEW, and PEPSI.

Of note, they partnered with then-startup company SMILE DIRECT CLUB to help launch their brand in 2015. During the three years to follow, Kendrick&Holland directed and produced all the video content for SDC, who grew into an international, multi-billion dollar company.

Cale Glendening

Motion & Stills

Focus:

Automotive; Travel

Style:

Cinematic; Stylized

Cale has been traveling the world over the past decade, photographing and filming in over 35 countries across five continents. He’s lived with indigenous people in the rainforest, dined with cannibals along the Ganges River in India, and hunted with Kazakh-Mongolian Eagle Hunters in the remote Altai Mountains.

His explorations have been the basis of most of his work: in addition to several documentary projects, two of which are currently in production filming internationally with Kevin Costner’s Tig Productions, Cale has directed branded work with clients such as MAZDA, GOOGLE, CISCO, RED BULL, ESPN, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC and ANIMAL PLANET.

All this traveling has taught him not just to give back, but to empower others to make a difference. Cale continues to find time to work and volunteer with many non-profits such as Help Portrait and To Write Love on Her Arms.
